Winter Fun Week: In a New York State of Mind

Baby, it’s cold outside! But that doesn’t mean you have to stay in for the next 3 months. If you and the kids are getting serious cabin fever, we’ve got some ideas to help you through it.

There’s a long weekend coming up, with the Martin Luther King holiday only a week or so away. Why not make some plans for a ski trip? If you’re an East-Coaster, the Catamount Ski Area in New York’s Berkshire Mountains is convenient to the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

Kids as young as 4 can take skiing lessons at Catamount, and 7-year-olds and up can learn to snowboard. Private instruction is offered for younger children and available to all during the week; group lessons take place on weekends.
