Travel Spotlight: Children’s Museum of Houston, TX

8 Jan

Deep in the heart of Texas, you’ll find the Children’s Museum of Houston. Featuring exhibits titled “Think Tank,” cm-houston“Dragons & Fairies,” “Tot Spot” and “Building Zone” (among many others), the museum is a hands-on place for children to learn as they play.   Admission is just $7 for adults and children 1 and older.  Infants are free, and seniors get a discount–so go ahead and bring Grandma and Grandpa along.

There are activities for the tiniest tots as well as older children, involving cars, computers, water, art, science and international culture.  In “Kidtropolis, USA” older children can try their hand at running a city, writing a newspaper and using a bank, while in the “Tot Spot,” their younger siblings (up to 36 months) can play with cars, bounce in a ball pit, or attend a storytime.

Birthday parties and class trips are great fun at the Children’s Museum.  And with a family membership, you can go at any time.  The Museum is open every day but Monday, and stays open until 8 on Thursday nights for a free family night from 5 to 8 PM!

This Children’s Museum truly is a “playground for your mind.”  If you’re in the Houston area, plan your visit today!
