Safe Sleeping Week: Cuddle Up

19 Oct

It’s Safe Sleeping Week! All this week we’ll share ways for babies (and their parents) to get a good night’s sleep. Don’t miss a single one of our twice-daily features.

Most newborns seem to sleep better when they’re swaddled.  Tightly wrapping a baby in a blanket can mimic the familiar feeling of being inside the mother’s womb, and it allows for improved sleep as the startle response is decreased.

I always tried to swaddle my babies like the hospital nurses did, but the kids always managed to wiggle out of the wrapping. That was so frustrating!   But my cousin, whose twins were born prematurely this past January, found swaddle blankets to be a huge help in getting the babies to sleep longer.

The Snug & Tug Swaddling Blanket is a foolproof way to wrap your baby just right.  It closes with Velcro to allow easy adjustments and is made from lightweight cotton to prevent overheating.  This blanket comes in a variety of sizes to fit your growing baby.
