Product Recall: Build-a-Bear

26 Dec

Has your child been hugging a bear like this?

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced that Build-a-Bear began a voluntary recall of the Colorful Hearts Bear, sold between April and December of 2011, because of a choking hazard.

The eyes on this bear can loosen and fall out, and they are small enough that babies and children could choke on them.  Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of this defect.

This recall is limited to the Colorful Hearts Bear and does not affect other Build-a-Bear products.

For more information, call (866) 236-5683 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT and on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT or visit Build-a-Bear’s Online Product Recall Center.

If your child has this bear, you can return it to any Build-a-Bear store and receive a coupon for a free replacement stuffed animal.
