In my opinion all new parents need to have a set of reference books for helping with issues that come up with babies and children. The What to Expect series of books, along with a good medical reference book are great to start with, but I just finished reading through “Jet with Kids by Anya Clowers†and this is one of those must have books that needs to be added to every new parents library. Jet with Kids is packed with every flying with children travel tip you can think. As I was reading the book I would have questions come to mind and each time the answer was soon to follow within the book.
The book starts with a background on the author and then dives right in with tips on traveling during pregnancy, traveling with a newborn, health related issues, what you need to know about airlines lap child policies, car seat considerations, documents you’ll need, packing, check-in, airport security, boarding, life on the plane, deplaning, baggage claim and more. All throughout the book there are tips, suggestions, recommendations, product suggestions, links to other resources and expert opinions from veteran and seasoned parents who have traveled extensively with children. There are also interviews with travel agents, airline employees, gate agents, a pilot and a doctor.
It’s been two days since I finished the book. I thought if I thought on it for a couple days I would think of something that was overlooked in the book. But I was wrong…I can’t think of one additional thing that wasn’t covered within this book. If you’re a new parent who’s about to start traveling with your child or even a seasoned family traveler… do yourself a favor and get this book. It’ll open your eyes to things you never thought of.
The book sells for $19.95 and is available from the JetwithKids.com site.
