One of the best toy investments we ever made was the Little Tikes Shopping Cart. 
Stable enough for even the unsteadiest toddler to push around, this cart is great for way more than “shopping!” It’s handy storage for those little treasures that your little one just can’t get through the day without (a blankie, favorite stuffed animal, your car keys, that special board book). When we bought this little cart for our daughter, she’d put her baby doll in the seat and we’d walk up and down the sidewalk in front of our home. Later, when we bought a toy kitchen, she’d store old macaroni-and-cheese boxes in it, along with other “play food.” She’d “shop” first, then “cook” and “serve” a meal to the family or her stuffed toys.
We’ve had that shopping cart around the house for about 12 years now, and it still gets used by some of the neighbor kids who come over here to play. It’s on our back porch, where it’s handy for collecting all the tennis balls and other small toys that wind up all over the yard. And while it’s a little sun-faded, there are plenty of years of fun still in store for this cart. It’s definitely built to last.
