Touro Synagogue, dedicated in 1762, is the oldest synagogue in the United States and the only one that survives from the colonial era.

Roger Williams National Memorial

Roger Williams National Memorial commemorates the life of the founder of Rhode Island and a champion of the ideal of religious freedom. Williams, banished from Massachusetts for his beliefs, founded Providence in 1636. This colony served as a refuge where all could come to worship as their conscience dictated without interference from the state. The Memorial is located on a common lot of the original settlement of Providence and includes 4.5 acres of landscaped park.

The Museum of Yachting is dedicated to the preservation of yachting traditions and heritage. The RISD Museum is a kids and family friendly museum that hosts a big family arts day on the last Saturday of each month called "Free-For-All Saturday." Past winner of Rhode Island's "Best Family Program," this free family event, which goes from 11 am - 4 pm, features a range of hands-on art workshops, treasure hunts through the galleries, and live performance. Themes change from month to month - dragons, masks, feathered friends, sculpture, just to name a few examples - so kids and families can always explore art in a new way. Summer - Family Vacation Hot Spots (Beaches, Lakes, etc.)

Block Island, Rhode Island - A wonderful secluded island that you can only get to by plane or boat (ferry).  This island offers fishing, scenic areas, horseback riding, canoeing, sailing, Para-sailing, shopping, restaurants and more.  You can get to Block Island by Ferry from Point Judith, RI; Newport RI; New London CT and Montauk, NY.  For more information on the ferry services, click here.

Atlantic Beach Park - Atlantic Beach Park retains the same old-fashioned charm that characterized beach recreational areas of years gone by, including a carousel with antique band organ, kiddie amusement rides, bumper cars, game room, shower and bath house facilities, hot dogs, ice cream, and much much more.

South Kingstown, Rhode Island - Beaches, shopping, museum and much more.

Flat River Reservoir - Fishing and boating.  Located off Rhode Island State Route 117 at Coventry Center.
