Each day under our all-weather aquadrome, Atlantic bottlenose dolphins demonstrate legendary intelligence and strength. Sleek sea lions take center stage and cleverly outwit their trainers.*** Also available is the dolphin interaction program where you can spend fifteen minutes in the water petting, touching, feeding, and learning about the dolphin they are in the water with. National Parks

Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield Site
Baldwin, Mississippi
This one-acre site commemorates a battle which had one objective-- make impossible the threat of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest to interfere with General William T. Sherman's railroad supply line from Nashville to Chattanooga during the Atlanta campaign.  Forrest scored a decisive victory over General S.D. Sturgis' Union forces when they met at Brices Cross Roads on June 10, 1864.

There are sparkling blue waters, magnificent snowy-white beaches, fertile coastal marshes, and dense maritime forests.  Gulf Islands NS consists of eleven separate units stretching along 150 miles from West Ship Island in Mississippi to the eastern tip of Santa Rosa Island in Florida.

The battlefield at Vicksburg is in an excellent state of preservation. It includes 1,325 historic monuments and markers, 20 miles of reconstructed trenches and earthworks, a 16 mile tour road, antebellum home, 144 emplaced cannon, restored Union gunboat-USS Cairo, and the Vicksburg National Cemetery. The visitor center offers general and historical information services, orientation film, exhibits on the various topics of the Civil War period and bookstore.

The many points of interest are viewed from an easy walking nature trail about 6 blocks long.  A printed trail guide explains each feature and point of interest.   The nature trail ends at the earth science museum. You may browse through one of the most outstanding collections of petrified woods, fossils, minerals, and other unusual items from nature.

The Observatory, the largest in the state, has 16 telescopes plus other optical instruments. The planetarium houses museum exhibits, including an extensive meteorite collection.  The observatory and planetarium are available for groups or individuals on an appointment basis.

Grenada Lake - Fishing, swimming, hiking, nature trails, camping and many other recreational activities.  Located 82 miles south of Memphis off I 55 and Mississippi State Route 8 Exit.
