Where is Baby’s Pumpkin?
By Karen Katz (Baby to Preschool)
Great interactive book that is a nice way to introduce small children to Halloween so they won’t get scared when trick-or-treaters come a’knockin. Baby seems to find everything but her pumpkin under each flap but when she finally does it is quite a scene.

Halloween Lift-the-Flap Shadow Book
By Roger Priddy (Baby to Preschool)
There are plenty of great Halloween surprises in store for little ones as they lift the flap to see what lies beneath. Great way to hold the interest of smaller children as well as introduce them to Halloween. Nothing scary here, just plain fun.

I Love You Little Pumpkin
By Sandra Magsamen (Baby to Preschool)
Adorable little book from the Snuggle-Me-Stories perfect for babies. Colorful images are tucked beneath the flaps hiding the usual Halloween characters. A surprise awaits baby when they get a glimpse of themselves in a surprise mirror. A great interactive book for small children as they see what Halloween is all about.

Halloween at the Zoo: A Pop-Up Trick-Or-Treat Experience
By George White, Bruce Foster and Jason O’Malley (2-4)
What are the animals in the zoo doing for Halloween? They are dressing up in costumes so they can join the fun and get some candy. The elephants are dressed up as skeletons and the hippos have been transformed into ballerinas! A Gold Medal winner, this book will keep young children entertained.

Boo!
By Joe Fenton
A little ghost is having trouble trying to scare his family. Even though he puts on an assortment of different costumes nothing works until he runs into the clothesline and gets caught up in a white sheet. Fenton uses detailed paintings to tell the story rather than a lot of words.

Elmo’s Monster Mash
By Naomi Kleinberg and Christopher Moroney (4-8)
Elmo’s Halloween party takes a turn for the worst when he drops and smashes his pumpkin right before the party. But all is not lost when the Sesame Street gang puts the pieces back together again and gives everyone a chance to celebrate all over again.

Halloween Dogs
By Roger Priddy (4-8)
A real touchy feely book, little ones will enjoy interacting with the dogs and puppies who are celebrating Halloween. Nothing too scary to look at and there are some fun rhymes to read. Roger Priddy has written over 400 books for children of all ages.

It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
By Charles M. Schulz (5-8)
Charlie Brown lives on and it would be fun for children to experience the book before seeing it on television. This enduring story has stood the test of time and still entertains kids today. Parents will enjoy it again as they share this classic with their children.

Boo, Katie Woo!
By Fran Manushkin
Katie Woo isn’t as interested in getting candy for Halloween as she is scaring everyone. Even though she is dressed up in a scary costume, everyone knows it’s her. Not being able to trick anyone becomes a big problem for Katie Woo – what will she do?

The Pumpkin Mystery
By Carol Wallace
Cute little story about the family cat and dog who try to help make sure that little Aden and Leah have their own pumpkins for Halloween. They were planted and growing fine until something happens. Scruffy and Mocha try to solve this mystery with the help of the rabbits on the farm.
