Treasure Hunt Game

Materials needed:

  • Paper

  • Markers

  • Candy or a small prize
    appropriate for the children's age.

1.  Create a treasure map that will lead the children to different clues.  Write out messages or take pictures leading to a hidden treasure somewhere in your yard or house.  For example a clue could be "This is where the birds like to get clean".  This clue would then lead them to a birdbath.

2.  At the start of the game, hand the leader (usually the birthday child) a map.  Each of the children then guesses the answer to a riddle and then all the children run to wherever the clue leads them until they find another clue.

3.  At the end of several hidden areas that contain clues, have a small prize or bag of candy waiting as an end to the treasure hunt.
