Play Clay

 

Materials needed:

  • Baking soda & Salt

  • Cornstarch

  • Measuring cup

  • Saucepan & Bowl

  • Food coloring

 

Recipe #1

  • 2 cups baking soda

  • 1 cup cornstarch

  • 1-1/4 cup water

  • Stir baking soda, cornstarch and water together in a saucepan. Stir and cook over medium heat, until it looks like mashed potatoes. Place in bowl and cover until cool. Store in a sealed container.

Recipe #2

  • 1/3 cup water

  • 1 cup salt

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup cold water

  • Food coloring

  • In a saucepan, mix the salt and 1/3 cup water over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 3-4 minutes.) Remove from heat and add cornstarch and 1/4 cup cold water. Will look like mashed potatoes. Stir until it thickens. Cool, and then knead. If too sticky, add more cornstarch. Store in sealed container.
