Patio Stone Hopscotch Game

Materials needed:

  • 10 patio stepping stones

  • Sandpaper

  • White house paint

  • 2 or more different colors of house paint

  • Paint sealant

Kids love playing hopscotch.  This gives the game a new twist by using patio stepping stones instead of drawing the game on the driveway with chalk.

1.  Smooth all rough spots off of each stepping stone with sandpaper.

2.  Paint the tops and sides of each stone with white outdoor house paint.  Once the white paint has dried, number the stones with a different color paint.

3.  Decorate the remaining area of the stones by painting flowers, handprints, stars or other designs.

4.  Put a couple layers of sealant on the stones to protect your children's artwork.

5.  Once the sealant has dried, bury the stones so their tops are smooth with the grass or dirt.  Be sure the tops are level with the yard to prevent tripping.
